What We Believe
The Solid Rock Community Church strives to accurately continue the beliefs and practices of the 1st century Apostolic Church as recorded in the biblical account of The Acts of the Apostles and the letters to the churches.
We believe the Holy Bible is God's Word; that is to say, God-authored and man-written. Believing the Holy Bible is the Word of God leads us to trust in its accuracy and to apply its teachings. Therefore, we believe the Word of God is Truth and given for correction and teaching.
We believe there is only one God who is YHWH (Yahweh or Jehovah). This God created everything in six successive 24-hour days. This God judged the world with a global flood. This God made a promise of a nation to Abraham, Issac, and Jacob and gave instruction to this nation on how to serve Him. When man did not follow God's commands, this loving God did not let us stay in sin but came to us in the body of Jesus of Nazareth, the promised Messiah. He lived a sinless life and was crucified for our sins that through His sacrifice we might live if we believe and obey His commands.
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.
We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit that is only known to have been received by the initial act of speaking in an God-inspired language.
We believe God is still using the Church through the gifts of the Spirit which are these: diversities of tongues, interpretation, prophecy, healing, miracles, helps, government, knowledge, word of wisdom, faith, and discerning of spirits.
We believe the Great Commission of our Lord is applicable and necessary in today's world. We seek to share the gospel to as many as will hear with love, mercy, and compassion.
